Lucama, NC - March 22, 2025: The tire smoke, the speed, and the style were out in full force as the 2025 Catch My Drift season kicked off with a bang at Southern National Motorsports Park. Among the 28 skilled drivers throwing down in Lucama, Jonathan Nerren stood out—qualifying strong, driving with precision, and ultimately taking home the top spot in Round 1.
With some of the fiercest competition on the East Coast in attendance—including several pro-level names—this wasn’t just a win. It was a statement to kick off the season.
The Road to the Win: Nerren’s Path Through the Bracket
Coming out hot, Nerren locked in 3rd overall in qualifying, earning him a bye in the Top 32 and a clean start into the main bracket. From there, it was nothing but smoke and precision:
-
Top 16: Took down Frankie Evans in the black E36
-
Top 8: Moved past Trevor Johnstone in the green S550
-
Final 4: Faced a tight One More Time battle with Taylor Hull in the Monte Carlo-bodied C6 Corvette
-
Finals: Sealed the deal against Cole Richards in the BRZ
Each round showcased Nerren’s signature aggressive style and rock-solid consistency—traits that have made him a fan favorite and a serious threat this season.
Starting 2025 on Top
Walking away with the first-place trophy and the season points lead, Jonathan Nerren now sits firmly at the top of the leaderboard going into the rest of the CMD season. With big names in the field and high-stakes driving on display, this win wasn’t just earned—it was fought for.
"“We felt great about taking home the top spot and sitting first in points. It’s the perfect way to start our 2025 season,” said Nerren after the event.
