Introducing the new Gen V 230 LT cam from BTR! Developed in-house using BTR designed lobes, the 230 cam is the latest offering in their LT lineup which has culminated from extensive in-house Spintron testing, coupled with thorough vetting on BTR's Superflow Engine Dynamometer.
This cam is not for the weak at heart. It is intended for use as a max effort VVT cam, in combination with upgraded cylinder heads, aftermarket throttle body, and an intake manifold such as the BTR Trinity series.
If you're wanting brutal mid range and top end power, this is the camshaft for you. Power figures north of 730hp have been seen on the engine dyno in a SBE application when used in conjunction with BTR valve train components.
A 3200+ stall converter is required for automatic applications, and a gear change is recommended for most manual transmission applications.
This cam requires fly-cutting when using OEM pistons, or the installation of aftermarket pistons with valve reliefs.
To take advantage of this grind, it is imperative to utilize VVT control when tuning. A proper calibration in this respect will make this camshaft SHINE! All BTR Gen V camshafts come with VVT Target Angle table specs on the cam card, making it easy to quickly dial in the VVT function for the best powerband possible.
NOTE: The 230 Camshaft requires a DOD/AFM lifter delete, and a 4* VVT Phaser limiter block is necessary for proper operation.
Our kit options eliminate guesswork when choosing components for your installation:
Camshaft Only: Includes only the BTR Gen V 230 Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser limiter are necessary for installation).
Camshaft with Spring Kit: Includes BTR Gen V 230 Camshaft, plus BTR SK007 Dual .660" Spring kit with Titanium retainers, Valve Seals and Locks.
Pushrod Upgrade: Highly recommended when installing an aftermarket camshaft and springs. Our Gen V pushrod kit includes beefy 3/8" diameter, 7.850" long chromoly pushrods (brand may vary based on availability).
Phaser Limiter Option: Includes a 4* BTR Phaser limiter block (recommended size for the BTR Gen V 230 camshaft). We have made this option for people who already have a tool from previous camshaft installations.
Phaser Limiter with Tool Kit Option: Includes 4* BTR Phaser Limiter block, plus the necessary tool kit required to install the phaser limiter.
