The Stage 2 L83 Camshaft is a popular choice for those wanting to spice things up a bit beyond the Stage 1 grind, and is a great choice for DOD/AFM deletes. With the Stage 2 you will get a noticable change in idle tone without losing the smooth driving characteristics of the factory engine. Thanks to it's broad powerband, this camshaft works well with stock converters. The Stage 2 L83 Camshaft requires the use of a 4* VVT Phaser limiter block to maintain proper piston to valve clearance.

Countless hours of in-house dyno development and Spintron research has allowed them to unlock strong power gains within the restraints of the L83 engine's limited piston to valve clearance, all while still maintaining VVT system function to make for broad, usable powerbands for your truck or SUV. From toy haulers to trucks turned street rods, their Gen V truck cam lineup has an answer for your needs. All BTR L83 camshafts come with VVT Target Angle table specs on the cam card, making it easy for your tuner to quickly dial in the VVT function for the best powerband possible.
Our kit options eliminate guesswork when choosing components for your installation:
Camshaft Only: Includes only the BTR Stage 2 L83 Camshaft by itself (please remember a valve spring upgrade and a phaser limiter are necessary for installation).
Camshaft with Spring Kit: Includes BTR Stage 2 L83 Camshaft, BTR .550" lift beehive valve springs, and tophat style valve seals with integrated spring locator seats.
Optional Pushrod Upgrade: Highly recommended when installing an upgraded camshaft and springs. Our Gen V pushrod kit includes beefy 3/8" diameter, 7.850" long chromoly pushrods (brand may vary based on availability).
Phaser Limiter Option: Includes a 4* BTR Phaser limiter block (recommended size for the BTR L83 Stage 2 camshaft). We have made this option for people who already have a tool from previous camshaft installations.
Phaser Limiter with Tool Kit Option: Includes 4* BTR Phaser Limiter block, plus the necessary tool kit required to install the phaser limiter.
