Product Description
Texas Speed TSP 228R Camshaft
Fits 1997-2013 LS-Based GM Engines 4.8 5.3 5.7 6.0 6.2
Specs: 228/228 .600"/.600" 112LSA, 3 Bolt Pattern
The 228R camshaft is a popular choice for customers wanting a very street-able camshaft that has a nice chop to it. This cam has been a proven performer for many years. Dyno testing has shown solid 45-50rwhp gains over stock and makes approximately 5-7 more horsepower than the 224R. The 228R camshaft is large enough that we recommend a 2800-3000 stall converter in automatic cars.
Check the Product Videos Tab for idle clips and dyno test.

Cam Kit
Great price, fast shipping, and I am confident TSP will live up to their reputation with this Cam. One thing that bothered me is that the cam kit arrived with all the components in one box and no packing material. The cam, rods, and springs were individually boxed but the gaskets were just floating around causing the timing cover gasket to get bent. Not the end of the world but it’s so preventative. Put some bubble wrap in there to avoid damage to the expensive parts!
