LS Oil Filter Bypass Delete Plug
Fits Gen 3 LS engines including 4.8L 5.3L 5.7L 6.0L LS1 LS6 LM7 LQ4 LQ9
Keep unfiltered oil out of your engine by plugging off the oil bypass check valve. The factory bypass check valve can let unfiltered oil into your engines bearings and lifters. Our aluminum bypass delete replaces the factory check valve preventing unfiltered oil from getting into the engine.
The factory bypass check valve is a safety in case the oil filter never gets changed and the filter gets restricted. Most oil filters already have a bypass built into them for this reason. The factory check valve can open with oil pressure surges particularly during cold startups, letting unfiltered oil pass through the engine.
A 1/4-20 threaded hole is in the end of our bypass delete for easy removal. Just screw a 1/4-20 bolt in and pull the delete out if ever necessary.
NOTE: Make sure your Bypass valve is located in the filter adapter housing like in the picture. Some are located inside the oil pan, this product will not work if your bypass is inside the oil pan.
