Anti-wear protection is essential for all engines to safeguard components such as camshaft lobes, lifter faces, distributor gear, and other valve train parts from premature wear. Cam-Shield's assembly paste, enriched with ZDDP (Zinc based additive), is highly concentrated, requiring only a small amount to effectively treat new cam break-in components and other metal surfaces. Modern engine oils often lack sufficient ZDDP additives necessary for optimal engine protection during the break-in process.
